The project: A 4,450 sq ft waterfront turf installation in Galveston, Texas, combining a custom putting green, sand bunker, poolside lawn and family play area.
Base protection: Our team built a retaining wall to help secure the turf base against erosion.
Three turf products: Pet/Play, Bermuda and Pro Putt were used across the project. Pro Putt forms the putting surface, with a different turf model used to create the fringe.
The finished space: A connected backyard with distinct areas for putting practice, poolside use and family play.
The challenge: Heavy shade beneath the existing mature magnolia trees made healthy natural grass difficult to maintain across this 1,500 sq ft project in Friendswood, Texas.
Drainage and edging: We worked with the existing drainage boxes and added stone edging around the flower-bed perimeter to help protect the turf base from erosion and give the landscaping a defined, finished border.
Preserving the existing trees: The magnolia trees were already on the property. We preserved them and fitted the artificial grass around the existing tree islands and landscape beds.
The finished space: A more usable family lawn with green turf, clear landscape borders and access to the existing drainage boxes.
